The Living Horizon SocietyQuestions & answers

Come with questions.
Keep your own mind.

A community built on trust should be clear about what it believes, what it asks, and what it has not yet built.

Do you use AI?

Yes. We use AI to help research and summarize information, build and maintain our website, and create visuals and media. These tools let us take on work that would otherwise take far longer with the time and resources we have. AI can make mistakes. Our editorial standard calls for checking sources, distinguishing facts from analysis and predictions, and correcting material errors.

Is membership really always free?

Yes. Membership is, and always will be, 100% free. There is no membership fee, required donation, paid tier, or purchase needed to belong. A person’s ability to pay must never decide whether their life or their voice matters.

What am I being asked to do right now?

At this time, we are only building membership. Joining for free is the only current invitation. We are not running campaigns or asking members to take collective action. Watching films, following public accounts or sharing an invitation are optional; none is a condition of membership.

How do I join?

New membership signup is temporarily paused. Check our Join page for updates. Membership is always 100% free.

What do you mean by “believers in life”?

People who believe innocent human life deserves protection and a future. It is a shared moral concern, not a religious test. People of different faiths, backgrounds, and worldviews can find common ground in that belief.

Must we agree about everything?

No. Unity without conformity is one of our foundations. You can keep your culture, faith, identity, and independent judgment. We ask for shared care for innocent life, respect for other people, and a commitment to peaceful, lawful conduct.

Why start by growing our numbers?

Before a community can act together, people need to find one another and understand what they share. Numbers can make a movement visible, but numbers alone are not enough. Trust, care, reliable information, and voluntary participation make shared choices meaningful.

What is your position on offensive war?

We oppose offensive war and the killing of innocent people. Our concern crosses national, cultural, religious, and political boundaries. When innocent people die, our response should be grief and a determination to protect life, rather than permission to hate another population.

What kind of future action do you envision?

Peaceful, lawful, freely chosen action could include informed consumer decisions, lawful boycotts, peaceful public expression, and voluntary collective choices about work where lawful. These are possibilities to understand together, not current campaigns or obligations placed on members.

Do you support violence, threats, or breaking the law?

No. The means must reflect the purpose. We reject violence, threats, theft, cheating, sabotage, harassment, and damage. Protecting life includes caring about people who disagree with us and those who could be affected by an action.

Can I disagree or choose not to participate?

Yes. Participation must remain voluntary. Belonging does not mean surrendering your judgment or agreeing to every future proposal. A community grounded in dignity must respect a person’s right to ask questions, disagree, step back, or leave.

Are you promising that this movement will end war?

No. We cannot promise an easy victory or a guaranteed outcome. We can work toward a community whose peaceful choices carry weight, while being honest about what is still being built and what we have not yet achieved.

Are the people in your images actual members?

No. The imagery illustrates the values and future we hope to build. It does not document actual members, victims, or events, and it does not represent a membership total.

Does this website collect my details?

Public membership signup is paused. You may email a forum access request to the Society. The Society and its email providers store that correspondence privately for review. Ordinary email is not end-to-end encrypted. There are no payments or site-added analytics. See Privacy & media for details.

Where can I follow the Society?

Join for free on the Join us page. Follow @TheLivingHorizonSociety on YouTube for our films, or @thelivinghorizon.bsky.social on Bluesky for public updates. Social follows are optional and separate from your free membership registration. Public comments and interactions may show your profile on those platforms. Use the links below to find our official accounts.

Can I join without being publicly identified?

Yes. As a precaution, we keep member and organizer identities out of Society public communications. We do not publish member lists or personal profiles. Public membership signup is paused. You do not need to make a public introduction, share a photograph or contribute a personal story. See Privacy & media for the data details.
