Respect begins
with honesty.

A clear explanation of what this website does, where its links lead, and what our images represent.

How we use AI

The Living Horizon Society uses AI to help research and summarize information, build and maintain this website, and create visuals and media. These tools help us complete tasks that would otherwise take far longer with the time and resources we have.

AI can produce errors and biased or incomplete results. Our editorial standard calls for checking original sources, applying the same evidence rules to every side, distinguishing facts from analysis and predictions, and correcting material errors. Illustrative media can include generated imagery and narration.

Membership signup

Public membership signup is paused. This website does not currently collect membership registrations. See the Join page for the current status.

Public anonymity, private registration

At this time, we are only building membership. As a precaution, we keep member and organizer identities out of Society public communications. We do not publish member lists, personal profiles or identifying stories. No public introduction, personal photograph or voice recording is needed to join.

Public comments, follows or other interactions on third-party platforms may show your profile there. They are optional and separate from your Society membership. We are not collecting founder introductions or member stories during this phase.

Optional member forums

Members may choose an encrypted forum, an unencrypted forum or both. Both use invitation-only Matrix rooms through Element or another compatible Matrix app. Only admitted Society members can post; News & Announcements is reserved for organizer posts. A Matrix account is required. Website registration alone does not grant room access. Human organizers review membership and send invitations; there is no automatic registration-to-Matrix connection.

In the encrypted forum, message and shared-file content is end-to-end encrypted for participating devices, including organizer devices in the room. Hosting providers store encrypted content. In the unencrypted forum, message content is not end-to-end encrypted and hosting providers can read it. Invitation-only access restricts who can join; it does not provide end-to-end encryption. The rooms are clearly labeled, and messages are not automatically copied between forums.

Account IDs, room membership, room names, timestamps and other service metadata are not all end-to-end encrypted. Members can copy or screenshot accessible content in either forum. Neither choice establishes complete anonymity. Current room history settings may prevent newly invited members from reading older messages.

The public website does not load a Matrix client, collect messages, handle passwords or store recovery keys. Forum links open an external service with its own account and privacy practices. Use a nickname and keep personal details and recovery keys private. Invitation requests to Society Gmail are ordinary email; send your Matrix ID, your choice of encrypted, unencrypted or both, and the sections you want. Send only the information needed for admission.

Private forum access requests

Forum access requests are sent by email to thelivinghorizon@gmail.com. Include your Matrix ID and requested forum and sections. The Society and its email providers store that correspondence for access review. Ordinary email is not end-to-end encrypted. Requests are not new membership registrations and do not prove account ownership or grant automatic admission.

We keep access requests while needed to process them and maintain an access record. You may ask to correct or remove your request by emailing the Society. An access request never needs a password, recovery key, identity document or personal story. Account creation stays with your Matrix provider. After approval, Matrix may deliver a room invitation; the Society handles the access setup.

Site features and access

The Society does not run its own advertising or analytics tools. YouTube’s player has separate data and storage practices when you choose to play a film, as described below. The question search runs in your browser. Copy-link buttons use your browser’s clipboard permission. Film-sharing buttons open your device’s share menu when supported, or copy the public film link. Nothing is sent to another person or service until you choose to share it. Background rotation remembers only the last opening scene in this tab’s temporary session storage, so successive visits can begin with different scenery. These browser features do not send a membership record.

The hosting platform may process ordinary technical access information and manage sign-in or access cookies. Those platform services are separate from the features added to this website.

Links to YouTube

Our channel links open YouTube. Subscribing there is optional and separate from Society membership. Video previews on this website are hosted here and do not load the YouTube player until you choose Play. Playing a film loads YouTube’s embedded player, which may process technical access information and use storage under YouTube’s own policies. If you choose to subscribe, comment, or use a Google account there, YouTube’s own account and privacy practices apply. This website does not receive or store your YouTube account details through the player or links.

About our imagery

The imagery and background scenes express shared humanity, care, peaceful work, and the future we hope to build. They are illustrative, rather than a record of actual Society activities.

They do not depict actual Society members, real victims, or verified events. A crowd in an illustration is not a claim about how many members the Society has. The interlocked-hands emblem is the Society’s approved artwork.

Free membership and voluntary choices

Membership is, and always will be, 100% free. This website has no paid membership tier or donation requirement. While membership signup is paused, you can explore the Society and follow its public updates. Any future action must be peaceful, lawful, and freely chosen.

Joining is voluntary. Your signup does not authorize the Society to act on your behalf, require donations or oblige you to take part in future action.
