Our member forums · Always 100% free

One society.
Your choice.

The same six sections. Two separate spaces. Choose encrypted or unencrypted discussion—both are for Society members, with access reviewed by an organizer.

Both open in Element and require a Matrix account and a Society invitation. Request access first; approval is required. A website signup or room link does not automatically grant access.

Two entrances. One community.

Choose how you talk.

Only admitted Society members can post in either forum. News & Announcements is reserved for organizer posts; members can discuss it in Current Events. You may request either forum or both. The scheduled daily news brief currently appears in encrypted News & Announcements.

Members only · Always 100% free

Encrypted member forum

End-to-end encrypted messages. Only participating devices can read the content. Invitation-only, with organizer-approved member access.

Unencrypted member forum

Not end-to-end encrypted. Hosting providers can read message content. Invitation-only, with organizer-approved member access.

Encrypted does not mean anonymous: room metadata is not all end-to-end encrypted, and participants can copy messages or take screenshots. Unencrypted does not mean public: that forum also requires an invitation.

A place for every question.

Pick a section below, then choose its encrypted or unencrypted room. Each room requires an invitation; a link alone does not grant access. Choose from the list on the left once you are inside Element.

02

News & Announcements

Official Society updates and the sourced daily Horizon Brief. Organizer posts keep this section easy to scan.

03

Current Events

Discuss important news with source links, dates and room for disagreement. The same standards apply to every government and group.

05

Community Lounge

Friendly conversation, encouragement and general questions. Keep your differences; share the horizon.

A little help

Keep it simple.

Can I encrypt just one post?

Element's standard interface sets encryption for a whole room, rather than individual posts. Choose an encrypted room before sending a message you want end-to-end encrypted. Posting in the unencrypted forum does not become encrypted because you also belong to the other forum.

I clicked “replies” and nothing happened.

Element opens older replies in a narrow panel on the far right, rather than underneath the message. Look for “Thread”. Click X at the top of that panel to return to the main conversation. New posts can go directly in their section; no reply panel is needed.

What can we talk about?

Society news, current events, everyday preparedness and friendly conversation. Be kind and stay peaceful. Share source links, distinguish facts from claims and leave room for disagreement. News uses the same standards for every government and group, without political party endorsements.

How private are the forums?

Both require invitations and organizer-approved member access. In the encrypted forum, message content is end-to-end encrypted; in the unencrypted forum, hosting providers can read it. Account IDs, membership, room names and other metadata are not all end-to-end encrypted. Participants can copy messages or take screenshots in either forum. Use a nickname and keep personal details, passwords and recovery keys private. Neither option promises complete anonymity.

Can I use the Society colors?

The optional Living Horizon theme uses forest green, gold and ivory. Theme choices apply to your Element client, not to every member.

In Element Web, type /devtools and press Enter. Choose Custom themes, paste the link below and choose Add custom theme. Select Living Horizon in Settings → Appearance; turn off Match system theme if needed. Close the tools without changing other options.

Other Matrix apps may not support this optional theme.

The Society is only building membership. Membership is always 100% free; chatting is optional and commits you to no campaign. This is not an emergency service or a continuously staffed space.
